There Is No Need to Get Greedy Over the Number of Methods You Know to Practice Dharma

釋迦佛講了那麼多經典，不是叫你一個人全部讀完，每個人適合哪個法門就去專注、專情。
Shakyamuni Buddha taught so many sutras, but he did not request you to read all of them; everyone should just focus on and commit to the method that suits them best.

修行佛法需要專情才有辦法。不要這個沾一下、那個沾一下，最後什麼都沒有，變得很悲慘。
Dharma practice requires your emotional commitment, like you do with your partner. Do not just dip your toes here and there, or you will just end up with nothing and become very miserable.

所以就選一個嘛！唸一個佛號吧！選一個法門吧！要跟自己溝通不要貪圖那麼多法門。
So, just pick one! Chant one Buddha's name! Stick to one method! Communicate with yourself, and tell yourself not to get greedy with too many Dharma methods.

每件事情都要專心去做，自然而然就會修得很好。
Do everything single-mindedly, and naturally you will practice well.

我們越修越固執，再怎麼修都只是一個不願意，那修行再久也起不了多大的作用。
However, the more we practice, the more stubborn we get; no matter how much we practice, we only end up with the same resentment. Then, no matter how long we practice, it will not have much effect.

修行上，不要老是覺得自己對、覺得自己最聰明。
Don't always be assuming you’re right or you are the smartest cookie in the jar when it comes to your Dharma practice.

覺得自己是天下最聰明的，其實就是最笨的。
Thinking you're the smartest in the world actually means you're the most stupid.

那怎麼辦呢？你沒有能力，當然就是聽從有智慧的人，相信他講的話。
Then what should we do? If you're out of your depth, of course, just listen to those who have wisdom and believe what they say.

我們不需要去研究文殊菩薩的智慧，我們的研究也都只是懷疑、不信。
We don't need to investigate the wisdom of Manjushri Bodhisattva. Our investigations are nothing but doubt and disbelief anyways.

我們要研究的是有沒有相信、聽他的話，研究這個比較重要。
What we need to examine is whether we actually believe and follow his words. This sort of investigation is much more important.
